Root canal therapy

Root canal treatment is required when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the pulp) is infected through decay or injury. The cavity after the pulp has been removed is filled with an inert substance. This treatment can save damaged teeth and allow restoration rather than extraction.

Gold crowns

Gold crowns have been a popular choice for crowns for a number of years. In modern gold crowns the gold is mixed with an alloy which results in a very strong and hardwearing crown.

Extraction

The removal of teeth may be required due to decay, injury or gum disease or to relieve the pain caused by problematic wisdom teeth.

Dentures

Dentures may be recommended for you to replace lost or missing teeth so you can enjoy a healthy diet and smile with confidence.

There are two types of denture: a 'complete' or 'full' denture, which replaces all teeth in either the upper or lower jaw, and a 'partial' denture which fills in the spaces left by lost or missing teeth.

A range of materials are now available from acrylic, cobalt chrome for strength and Sunflex flexible dentures for added retention and comfort.

Anti Snore Appliance

The 'Silensor' anti snoring system uses a pair of custom made plastic mouldings, shaped to fit your teeth, which you slip into your mouth at bedtime. The top and bottom sections are connected at the sides by short plastic links, which have the effect of pulling your lower jaw forwards. This in turn holds the airway open reducing the constriction that causes the snoring.

New patient consultation

As a new patient to the practice you will have a thorough consultation. Your dentist will take a detailed medical history then carry out a full examination of your teeth, gums and mouth and advise you on any work required. Your dentist will create a dental record for you on our computer system so that he has quick access for reference on subsequent visits.

Hygiene

Regular professional cleaning by your dentist will help keep your mouth healthy. Once registered it's possible to make an appointment for routine hygiene work on it's own or to combine this with another visit.

Examinations

Even if you think your teeth are strong and healthy your dentist will be able to spot any signs of problems early and help you avoid them. We will advise you on the ideal recall interval to suit your individual dental needs, this is normally between 6 and 12 months.

Fillings

There are a number of different fillings available at the practice and your dentist will discuss options with you on your visit to ensure that you get the best to suit your needs.

Sports gum shield

A sports gum shield can help to protect your teeth and are used widely by participants of contact sports. We offer a range of different gum shields, please enquire with your dentist.

Kids

Most of us have childhood memories of visiting the dentist when we were younger. At the practice we make every effort to put your children at ease when they visit and most importantly to help them along the road to healthy teeth.

Orthodontics (braces)

We do not offer an in house orthodontics service, but we have colleagues in Stratford and Leamington Spa to whom we can refer you for this service. Please ask you dentist for advice on orthodontics.
